Southwest Landscapes
I live in the Southwest, of course, and one of the remarkable things I notice is how varied . . . actually how constantly changing it is. New homes pop up where cotton fields lived, altering the landscape while I've been off on a brief vacation. Clouds metamorphosize before your eyes; skies can change from astoundingly strong pinks and purples to mellow, restful pastels in the blink of an eye. One day recently, I saw a single, ugly, black "inkspot" spreading into an otherwise pristine blue sky. Then it was gone. PRESTO, CHANGO! That's the Southwest. So, it's no wonder I paint the Southwest in so many styles. Change is reality here. I enjoy trying to express it. Hope you do too!
